V Festival 2008

Virgin Mobile's Louder Lounge is the ultimate in festival hospitality, giving Virgin's VIP guests a proper pampering as well as catering for a long list of celebs.

This year, Dataflow Events were brought on board with the organisation of the Louder Lounge registration process and asked to address a problem which had been bugging Virgin Mobile for the last few years.

"Co-ordinating registrations for the Louder Lounge has traditionally been a big headache for us, resulting in our VIP guests having to queue for too long." commented Virgin Mobile's Head of PR, Simon Dornan.  "By managing our pre-festival registrations and providing us with electronic systems onsite, Dataflow have helped to streamline the whole process. Queues this year were dealt with as quickly as they formed."

The secret? Dataflow identified the problem with previous festivals as being a combined effect of an under-equipped registration web site and the absence of a strong on site arrival processing system. We set about providing a service with a web registration system at the core.

Although web registration had been used previously, a simplified interface encouraged more guests to register by the deadline.  Dataflow sent regular email reminders on Virgin Mobile's behalf prompting users to register on time. This was combined with a good helping of hands on data management, and Dataflow's ScanEngine system for handling on site arrivals.

The result speaks for itself. "One of our guests told me they had to queue for about an hour last year. She asked me what we'd done - this year she was in within 5 minutes" said Dornan.
