Remember the days of sending content changes to the web guys for them to action, having to wait until they could schedule it in, while your boss or client is breathing down your neck? Here's some good news; those days are over.
We've been busy working on a system that allows clients using our event registration web site services to have control over their own web content. It's called SimpleCMS.
SimpleCMS is an online tool that lets you;
- Edit the text on your web site in a 'Word-style' interface
- Create new pages on your registration web site
- Upload images
- Resize and crop images
- Add and edit links
- Upload documents such as presentations in PDF format
And you don't need to be a techno-genius to use it. So from now, you can update your content any time, any day.
We've tested SimpleCMS on some real projects with great success, and have now integrated it with EventEngine, Dataflow's core event registration website development environment.
We had two key challenges in integrating SimpleCMS with EventEngine.
The first was letting our clients play around with content without being at risk of accidentally affecting the code that runs their registration forms. We've managed to keep the two separate, so you can edit fear-free.
The second challenge was not compromising any of the features of either system, and we're pleased to say that by having SimpleCMS you won't lose any of the functionality of customisable features of EventEngine.
We're really looking forward to seeing our customers benefit from SimpleCMS. And to be honest, we won't miss those last-thing-on-a-Friday calls with urgent content changes!
